Cassatt String Quartet

The Westchester Chamber Music Society is proud to present the Cassatt String Quartet live, in concert on Sunday Nov. 16 at 4:00. Formed in 1985 and inspired by the artistry of painter Mary Cassatt these award winning musicians have earned an exceptional reputation in the performance of chamber music. The concert will open with Dvorak’s “American” String Quartet #12 in F Major, Op 96, followed by contemporary composer Peter Schikele’s  “American Dream”. The grand finale of this amazing program will be Brahms’ Viola Quintet where the group will be joined by virtuoso and founding Tokyo String Quartet violist, Kazuhide Isomura, not just a founding member, but the only musician to have played with the famed Tokyo for its entire 40 plus years!

This concert is second in a series of five presented by the Westchester Chamber Music Society at the extremely intimate and acoustically excellent venue of Congregation Emanu-El in Rye. Seating is open, tickets may be purchased at the door and students are invited to attend free of charge. As always, a wine and cheese reception follows the concert where all guests are welcome to meet the artists.
