Breeding Lilacs: Spring Poetry Workshop

This intensive six-week workshop will tap into the energy of this prolific season to expose and support new poetic growth. Participants will be encouraged to bring six pieces of new writing to the table—single poems or parts of longer projects—to consider strategies for developing, revising, and expanding this core of work. The workshop will focus on craft and radical revision, exploring image, lineation, musicality, syntax, vernaculars, plot, rhetoric, lyric, viewpoint, and tone. Special attention will be brought to matters of appropriation: what we borrow, what we beg. A customized reading list will be circulated to the group after each session, based on the material just presented.

6 Mondays, 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., 4/20/2015–5/25/2015
