Author Event with Glenn Berger “Never Say No to a Rock Star – In the Studio with Dylan, Sinatra, Jagger, and More”

A sometimes shocking, often funny, always entertaining insider’s look at the making of some of the most seminal music of the 70s and 80s.
NEVER SAY NO TO A ROCK STAR presents a unique look back on the formative years of a leading therapist. Berger provides a telling and honest examination of the nature of fame and success –and the corollaries between creativity, madness and self-destruction– while sharing eye-popping celebrity stories.

NEVER SAY NO TO A ROCK STAR: In the Studio with Dylan, Sinatra, Jagger, and More in which Berger relates his tales of coming up in the recording industry. It harkens back to the wild, gritty music scene of
New York in the 70s, which is now having a pop culture moment thanks to the HBO series “Vinyl.”  The book is the winner of The Nicholas Schaffner Award, presented annually to a work of fiction, nonfiction or poetry that in some way captures the spirit of music (of any genre and period) and its influence.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, Glenn Berger worked with the likes of Phil Ramone, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Pheobe Snow, Bette Midler, Mick Jagger, Sinatra and many more.  “Glenn takes the reader to the universe of the great A&R studio in New York where some of the most memorable music of the past century was made.

Congratulations, Glenn, you tell it the way it was. And I loved reliving it with you.”—Judy Collins, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and author.

Books will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation provided by The Village Bookstore of Pleasantville.
