As iFF 2020: FILM IN FOCUS

Join us for 2020 FILM IN FOCUS — As iFF’s Special Fifth Anniversary Weekend Celebration, featuring two nights of curated international short film programs that travel backwards and forward in time! A filmmaker’s vision creates stories transformed from the mind’s eye to the camera lens — envisioning worlds that are immediate, distant, distorted, remembered, anticipated, imagined and illuminated.

Our anniversary festivities begin on Friday night, April 17th with As iFF HINDSIGHT — a retrospective salute to some of your favorite short films from our nine previous festivals (2015-2019), comprising breathtaking award-winning shorts from around the world. The Friday night program will be followed by a SHORT SHOTS soiree for all “Above the Line” ticket holders, featuring delectable snacks and whiskey shots from Kings County Distillery (New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, and the first since prohibition).

Saturday night, April 18, As iFF 2020 FILM IN FOCUS presents a curated program of current live action and animated international short films (ranging from 20 seconds to 20 minutes long) that illustrate the limitless range of vision and perspective — from vivid clarity to vagueness and obscurity. The program will be followed by a fabulous festive after-party for all ticket holders and filmmakers.
