Arts in the Afternoon

Hear about the Wild, Wild, East, and New York’s drama of Westward expansion in a slide talk by Robert Spiegelman, multimedia artist and writer.  As explores New York’s evolution from pre-history into the Empire State, see a place where immigrants change in to nomad farmers, neighbors into rivals, colonists in to fighters, soldiers in to settlers, land speculators into “second creators,” and untamed forests become Real-estate grids.

Spiegelman, a Doctor of Sociology, teaches at several CUNY campuses.

Coffee and cookies provided.  Afterwards, tour our current exhibitions, led by a Museum Docent. This program is FREE with Museum admission.
