LARRY HOROWITZ’s landscape paintings incorporate bold color and a reliance on modernist form. His profound connection to the land accounts for the emotional impact of his work. Says Horowitz, “I paint the vanishing American landscape, which is disappearing as we speak.” Born in 1956 in New York City, Larry Horowitz graduated from SUNY Purchase and immediately won the prestigious and coveted position as apprentice to Wolf Kahn. Larry Horowitz currently shows in galleries across the United States and in Canada. His work is in many major corporate and private collections.
ELISSA GORE is inspired by the Hudson River School ethos of painting, an idealized portrayal of nature. Surrounding the viewer with atmosphere that reflects a transcendental idea of the sublime, Gore’s ultimate aim is to remind us of the importance and necessity of protecting America’s natural beauty. Originally from Philadelphia, Gore now lives in New York City. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Art. Her work is often shown nationally and is included in over 60 public collections. Gore taught college fine art for 20 years and currently teaches landscape painting at the New York Botanical Garden.
