Artist Lecture: An Artist Inspired by Africa, Alison Nicholls

If you are interested in Africa, art, or conservation, you will want to join us for Alison Nicholls’ talk about her life, travels, and work in Africa. Alison is a field sketch artist who uses her art to create awareness of conservation issues and raise funds for African conservation organizations. During 2019, she taught drawing classes and helped train mural design teams at schools in Tanzania with African People & Wildlife (africanpeoplewildlife.org); she traveled and sketched in Botswana; and she taught guests in South Africa to sketch wildlife quickly and confidently on art safaris. You will see her latest sketches and paintings, hear stories from the African bush, and see some of the ways art and conservation can work effectively together to change attitudes and help protect endangered species and habitats.
