Children ages 10 mos – 2 years come to class with a guardian or family member, and participate in Singing, Movement, Puppetry, Instruments, Storytime, Art and more! Each Week offers a little something different!
Little Arcs Classes begin the week of October 7
Section 1: Mondays from 10 – 11 am
Section 2: Saturdays from 9 – 10 am

CREATIVE KIDS
ARC STAGES PRESCHOOL CLASSES!

Creativity abounds with acting, singing and dancing as these youngest of actors learn the fundamentals of acting through theatre games, music exercises and dancing! And just for the EXTREME fun of it, we throw in some arts and crafts as well! Come discover the world of theatre at Arc Stages!

Section 1: (3 & 4 year olds, 3’s and 4’s class)
Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am; 8 week session
Section 2: (3 & 4 year olds, 3’s and 4’s class)
Wednesdays from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm; 8 week session

LITTLE THEATRE CLASS

Little Theatre focuses on kids in Kindergarten and First Grade. The program celebrates their incredible imaginations through artistic play, music, dance, and acting exercises. The program culminates in a final open class presentation where the actors can show off all their new theatrical skills!

Grades K – 1

Mondays 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

YOUNG ACTORS PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

Our Young Actors Workshop combines fun and the fundamentals of acting to put together a musical theatre production. Theatre games and acting exercises build technique and confidence while the actors rehearse and then perform a final show!

Grades 2 – 4

Section 1: Mondays 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

Section 2: Thursdays 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

TWEEN WORKSHOP

Grades 5 – 8

Either Mondays or Wednesdays 3:30PM – 5:30 PM

Tween actors will experience a professional rehearsal process, coupled with theatre games and acting exercises designed to fit their learning levels. The tweens will dive deeper into their work as actors as they endeavor to gain confidence and knowledge about all aspects of theatre and performance.

Sign up for an audition! For the audition, please prepare a 1 minute song and a 1 minute monologue. Auditions will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 12:00PM – 4:00PM. If you need assistance finding a monologue, email galit@arcstages.org.

Note: All should be prepared to come back on Sunday, September 22 from 1:00pm-3:30pm for callbacks.

TEEN INTENSIVE

Grades 9 – 12, Either Tuesdays or Wednesdays 5:00PM – 9:00PM

A conservatory program, the Teen Intensive will consist of professional training from actors and directors with extensive experience in the business. Rehearsals will include technique in acting, musical theatre, singing, dance, and improv. This Intensive will culminate in a full-length play or musical theatre production.

Adult Classes

Improv Comedy Class

Arc Stages is proud to offer an 8 week improv comedy class for adults led by Jonathan Evan Goldberg, the President and co-founder of Cherub Improv, the premiere improv comedy non-profit dedicated to community service performances. Over the past 10+ years, Jonathan has taught and performed improv for thousands of people in need of laughter.
This class will help unleash your creativity, improve your confidence and public speaking skills, and develop your inner funny — all while meeting new people, reducing stress, and having fun! Open to new and returning students alike.
Age: 18 and Over
Mondays and 2 Thursdays, 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM, 8 sessions
Fall 2019 Session Begins September 9
Dates: Sept 9, 16, 23; Oct 3 (Th), 7, 17 (Th), 21, 28
Class Show: Friday, Nov 1 @ 7pm

The Joanna Gleason Workshop: For A Song

The Joanna Gleason For A Song Workshop at Arc Stages begins this fall! Participants get the amazing opportunity to work songs in their repertoire with incredible Tony award winning actor, teacher and director Joanna Gleason.
Admission is $40.
Open to ages 18 and up!
First Class is on October 5, 2019 at 12pm
Joanna will be donating her time to teach this workshop, and all proceeds will be given to a different charity each class. Joanna will discuss the charity at each workshop and why they are important to her.
For the workshop, participants are asked to prepare with a ballad or two songs. Songs may be from Broadway shows, Off Broadway shows, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Rodgers and Hart, Harold Arlen, Sondheim, etc…also good are James Taylor, Judy Collins, Adam Guettel, John Bucchino….but no up-tempo or rock material.
Joanna Gleason has appeared in fifteen Broadway and Off-Broadway and Off-off Broadway shows.
She won a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical in Stephen Sondheim’s “‘Into The Woods.” She has three Drama Desks, and two Outer Critics’ nominations and wins. There were Tony nominations for “Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels” and “Joe Egg” on Broadway. Off-Broadway includes shows for The Public Theatre, (The Normal Heart) The Roundabout (Sons Of The Prophet), and Manhattan Theatre Club (It’s Only A Play, Eleemosynary).
Film work includes Woody Allen’s Crimes and Misdemeanors, Hannah and Her Sisters; Boogie Nights, Last Vegas, The Skeleton Twins.
Television includes The Affair, West Wing, The Newsroom, Friends, Bette, Murphy Brown, Blue Bloods and many more.
Joanna Gleason has been teaching in high schools, colleges, and Acting Schools for over 30 years.
