Arc Stages Fall Classes and Performance Workshops for all ages. Onsite and online options available!

Arc Stages Fall 2020 Classes and Performance Workshops

We will be running On Site programs at Arc Stages this fall! Safety protocol will be in place, in accordance with NY State and CDC guidelines. Similarly to our SummerStage 2020 camp program, Arc Stages is planning on continuing to do the following:

  • limiting the number of actors in each group
  • thorough & frequent sanitizing of the space
  • additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the facility
  • holding classes/rehearsals outside as much as possible (weather permitting)
  • all actors and staff will be required to wear a face covering
  • all actors and staff will have their temperature checked upon arrival to Arc Stages
  • structuring our classes/rehearsals so that we maintain social distance, smaller groups with more spacing
  • UV light filters were installed into our entire HVAC system
  • final performance in the theatre ~ audience will be able to view either in person or streamed virtually, depending on State guidelines
  • all Educational Stage parents will be expected to sign a standard waiver for their child(ren)’s enrollment.

PARENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO TEMPERATURE CHECK THEIR CHILD EACH DAY FOR TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE FIRST CLASS/REHEARSAL. Parents of enrolled students will be sent a prescreening form to record this information.  If unable to complete the two weeks of prescreening, student will need to have a negative covid test result to attend class/rehearsal (rapid tests are acceptable).

Tween Workshop

Grades 5 – 8

Either Tuesdays or Wednesdays 3:30PM – 5:30 PM

Tuition: $845

Tween actors will experience a professional rehearsal process, coupled with theatre games and acting exercises designed to fit their learning levels. The tweens will dive deeper into their work as actors as they endeavor to gain confidence and knowledge about all aspects of theatre and performance.

For the Fall 2020 session, we will be focusing on producing plays. We will incorporate music as much as possible, but will be limiting the amount of singing  during the rehearsals and performances.

About our process: When you sign up for an audition, you are signing up for the session! We do not make ‘cuts.’ Auditions are simply a way for us to get to know our actors each session, and for them to gain confidence and comfortability with auditioning. Instead of choosing a show in advance and shoehorning children into it, we choose our shows, and our schedule for the semester, based on the schedules and auditions/callbacks of the actors who sign up. Our emphasis is on the process of putting on a show, integrating theater games and acting exercises throughout the rehearsals.

We will not be conducing group callbacks this session. Instead, each actor’s audition time will incorporate a callback as well, as we try out scenes from different potential shows. By trying out different shows and material, we are seeing what shows (and how many) will best fit our actors that session. Our aim is to challenge our actors in different ways each session they sign up at Arc. We endeavor to nurture our actors, instill self-confidence, and a love for the process of putting on a show. Each cast will have the final performance of their show in November/December 2020. Date TBA, depending on the schedule.

Click here to sign up for an audition! For the audition, please prepare a 1 minute monologue. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 22 & Wednesday, September 23. If you need assistance finding a monologue, email galit@arcstages.org. We are happy to help!

Teen Intensive

Grades 9 – 12, Either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, 5:00PM – 9:00PM
Tuition: $945

A conservatory program, the Teen Intensive will consist of professional training from actors and directors with extensive experience in the business. Rehearsals will include technique in acting, musical theatre, dance, and improv. This Intensive will culminate in a full-length production.

For the Fall 2020 session, we will be focusing on producing plays. We will incorporate music as much as possible, but will be limiting the amount of singing  during the rehearsals and performances.
