April Shakespeare Workshop

For young people in grades 5 through 12

Celebrate William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday in this workshop led by Peter Royston. Get to know the Bard by learning the basics, starting with the emotions behind the words and then getting into the language for which he is famous. At the end of the three-hour session, participants will perform a reading from works of arguably the world’s greatest playwright.

Peter Royston is a writer, director, and drama teacher specializing in Shakespeare who has worked in various capacities to bridge the gap between the entertainment industry and the educational community. Having worked with schools and student groups throughout the tri-state area, Mr. Royston has for the past ten years directed Shakespeare in the Park in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, where young people perform Shakespeare’s works under an open sky.

“Watching one rehearsal is enough to observe Royston’s talent at turning Shakespeare’s verse into relevant tales for youngsters,” observed the Hudson Independent.

Workshop Fee: $75
