An Evening of Opera and Song

ROBERT PULEO and ANDY BOSSOV INTIATES THE HOLIDAY SEASON AT RECOLOGIE
49 Lawton Street, New Rochelle, NY 10801

Saturday evening, December 6, at 8pm the Tenor/Piano duo will warm the hearts of their audience with a combination of opera and song.
Robert Puleo began his singing career as a Boy Soprano, in the role of AMAHL in Menotti’s Christmas opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors, under the personal direction of the composer himself. His appearances as a tenor soloist include The Bronx Opera, Alice Tully Hall, Symphony Space and the Listening Room on WQXR. Last Spring he appeared as a guest artist with the critically acclaimed vocal chamber ensemble, The Western Wind, in a series of Polish Renaissance Music concerts at the Folger Library in Washington DC with the Folger consort.
A prolific composer, Mr. Puleo is currently Composer-in-Residence at Trinity St. Paul’s Episcopal Church here in New Rochelle, where his commissioned anthem, CANTICLE: TE DEUM, was presented at that parish’s 325th anniversary service in 2013 with the United States Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in attendance. His song, QUEEN CITY OF THE SOUND, was composed for, and performed at New Rochelle City Hall’s flag raising ceremony, kicking off our year long 325th anniversary celebration also in 2013.
Andy Bossov is a pianist, vocalist and music director, and has performed at venues as diverse as Carnegie Hall, the Weston Playhouse, the Jerusalem Theater, and on a Friendship Ambassadors tour of Poland, Russia and Lithuania. Whether accompanying an improv troupe, arranging and conducting a variety show, or leading a community sing-along, Andy matches the style and mood needed creatively and collaboratively. Keep asking for song requests at a party and it could be hours before he’ll take a break! Trained in theory, composition and piano at Oberlin Conservatory and the Northwestern University School of Music, Andy’s varied musical activities continue bringing him closer to people of all backgrounds and musical tastes. He is comfortable playing at both Jewish and Christian celebrations, and he can regularly be found accompanying singers in all musical styles. His parody songs, in particular, have kept friends, co-workers and clients entertained for years. He is also an ordained Reform Rabbi who, after 19 years serving congregations, now runs a senior center for Westchester Jewish Community Services. He will soon celebrate the 8th anniversary of receiving a new kidney from a Methodist minister friend.
In the spirit of the holidays, a light menu and desserts will be available for the evening.
