WIHD Presents An Evening of Music and Art

On November 15th, the Child Welfare Services Department of the Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) (wihd.org) will be hosting a fundraising event, featuring a concert by Manhattan-based Salome Chamber Orchestra (salomechamber.org).

Child Welfare Services supports hundreds of children in foster care each year. The majority of these children come to WIHD after having experienced significant personal trauma ranging from abuse to neglect to sudden and harsh separation from their biological families. Our kids tend to be amazingly resilient, but they are children, and they are vulnerable. Through the medium of play therapy, our expert therapists help these children process traumatic experiences, heal emotionally painful wounds, and develop tools for coping with life’s future challenges. However, our current play therapy rooms are in dire need of renovation. As such, the goal of our fundraiser is to seek financial support for our renovation plans. Please join us for an evening of incredible music and an important cause. For more information and to buy tickets, please visit: http://www.wihdconcert.com/
