Presents Notes from the Frontlines: Nine Monologues

Westchester Collaborative Theater, based in Ossining, NY will present a first of its kind event (for WCT anyway!) – Notes from the Frontlines: Nine Monologues, a diverse group of pieces that run the gamut from laugh-out-loud farce to gut-wrenching drama. The event will open on Friday June 17^th at 8pm and run Saturday June 18^th at 8 and Sunday’s performance is at 3pm will be followed by a talk-back with writers and actors. Tickets are $15 general admission Friday and Sunday with discounts available for WCT/OAC members, seniors, students and groups of 5+. Saturday night will be a mixer in conjunction with the Ossining Village Arts Committee and all tickets will be $10, sold only at the door. Notes from the Frontlines: Nine Monologues will take place at the Steamer Co. Gallery, 117 Main St., 2^nd Floor, Ossining, NY. The seating available for these performances is extremely limited. Advance purchase for Friday & Sunday performances is strongly suggested. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.wctheater.org.

Notes from the Frontlines: Nine Monologues will be directed by WCT Executive Director, Alan Lutwin. The Monologues featured are:

Ask Zsuzsanna by C.J. Ehrlich, performed by Sharon Rowe: Single Motherhood at 50. A psychotherapist explains how she handles the stress of living in NYC while raising her newly adopted daughter, River Apple.

Funhouse Mirror by Pat O’Neill, performed by Tim Harbolic: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single candy bar (or lack thereof).

The Galaxy by Jeff Edrich, performed by James Leeper: An old cowboy finds his love returns in the form of a message he wrote many years before.

Good Company by Joseph P. McDonald, performed by Lynne Foster: An elderly woman “riding the rails” heading for California muses about past memories.

Monologue Pedagogue by Keith Whalen, performed by Cathy Schaeffer:

A community college theater professor gives feedback on her students’ unusual monologues

Palmas by Ward Riley, performed by Michelle Concha: Someone, somewhere, is watching over you.

The Pitch by Carol Mark performed by Jon Barb: A down-and-out marketing man makes one last attempt to turn things around.

Sparks by Evelyn Mertens, performed by Julie Griffin: A chronically disappointed woman discovers an unorthodox source of satisfaction.

Stranger Danger by Misha Sinclair, performed by Dianne Roxy Pennington: Sometimes the danger isn’t the stranger, but who or what you’re running from.

The Westchester Collaborative Theater is a multicultural, cooperative theater company located in Ossining, NY, dedicated to developing new work for the stage and bringing high quality theater to the community. It is comprised of local playwrights, actors, and directors who employ a Lab approach in which new stage works are nurtured through an iterative process of readings, critiques, and rewrites. When work is ready for production, it is produced for the public at various local venues.

WCT is committed to furthering theater arts in our community. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and a recipient of production grants from ArtsWestchester and New York State Council on the Arts.
