American String Quartet

The Westchester Chamber Music Society is delighted to open its 64th season with a performance of the American String Quartet.  Internationally recognized as one of the world’s foremost quartets, the American String Quartet is celebrating its 39th season in 2014–2015. Critics and colleagues alike hold the group in high esteem and many of today’s leading artists and composers seek them out for collaborations.  Cellist Alexander Scheirle will join the American for this concert to perform the Schubert Cello Quintet.

After the concert we will have a reception with the musicians so that attendees can get to know our performers.  We invite you to join us for this special event as we kick-off our new season.

An annual subscription for all five concerts during our 2014-2015 is $175.  Individual tickets are $40.  All student tickets are free.  For tickets and/or additional information, email us at mommadoccb@aol.com or call 914.761.4625 or 914.967.7399.

The Westchester Chamber Music Society is celebrating its 64th season in 2014-2015. Led by Dr. Caroline Bauman, a pediatrician and long-time Rye resident who has been president of the society for the past 30 years, The Westchester Chamber Music Society has been committed to bringing first-rate artists to Westchester, which included the Tokyo String Quartet in their Westchester premiere and renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Long time subscribers are joined by new members and many other guests to enjoy the very personal experience of performance that chamber music provides. The Westchester Chamber Music Society concerts are presented on Sunday afternoons at Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester in Rye, whose celebrated acoustics make it a desirable venue for internationally renowned musicians as well as emerging artists. The Society presents five concerts a year, three in the fall and two in the spring. After each concert, audience members are invited at no charge to a reception at which they can meet and speak with the musicians. “We are thrilled to provide unique occasions for Westchester residents and other attendees to connect with these very talented performers. People can ask questions about the pieces, share their thoughts or simply say hello. It is a very special opportunity for them to socialize with the musicians and others who share their love and appreciation of the music.” said Dr. Bauman.
