8th Rising Stars Concert #2

Discover the musical talents of a group of exceptional students as OCA Westchester & Hudson Valley presents the 8th RISING STARS CONCERT. This two-concert music festival, sponsored by TD Ban, introduces young Asian Americans performing classical and contemporary works from the West and the East. Special guest performers at both concerts are internationally acclaimed artists who will play traditional Chinese instruments.

The RISING STARS CONCERT gives the audience a chance to get to know these very talented young performers, ages 8 to 17, from Westchester’s Asian American community. They were selected through an audition process by a panel of distinguished judges: Ming Fong, Director, Beijing International Music Festival & Academy; Juliet Gopolan, Piano Faculty, Music Conservatory of Westchester; Jean Newton, Executive Director, Music Conservatory of Westchester; Margaret Ziemnicka, Violin Faculty, Music Conservatory of Westchester; Ariane Kuo, Award Winning YangQin Artist.

These young artists will play a variety of musical instruments; both classical instruments from the West and traditional Chinese instruments. Two internationally acclaimed artists will give special performances.  The event promises to be entertaining and culturally enriching for all audiences.
