Jill Kiefer, the incoming president of OAC, says, “We’re very excited to be part of this collaborative effort, the fourth LAE presentation!”

The plays are:

The Bees Are Watching by C.J. Ehrlich: Two EPA officials on a smoking break are at odds with new edicts to deregulate environmental protections. Quinn is ready to stand up for her ideals, and resist. Scottie, “just following orders”, is being tortured by nature itself.

Friends by Choice by Howard Lipson: After over 40 years, two sisters finally reveal an event that could have changed their lives together.

The Image of Women by Evelyn Mertens: A young woman wrestles with her inner conflicts over the loss of the slender figure she has always treasured as her pregnancy begins to transform both her body and her perception of herself.

The Loud Hours by Pat O’Neill: The ghosts of the past hang heavily during the loud hours of the night as Tom and Jess struggle to let go the night before Jess leaves for college.

Mr. Green by Angelo Parra: In a doctor’s office waiting room, a lonely, aged African-American, hoping for a life-saving kidney, waxes pensive and nostalgic to a fellow patient, revealing his unyielding will to carry on.

Clam Diggers and Mussel Suckers by Jane Ann Valentine: Brody and Waverly, two college students on a date, share an unexpectedly tender moment while watching the sunrise over the water at City Island. Can something so impersonal as an app where you swipe right for likes lead to something like love for these two millennials?

The Ensemble of actors includes: Enid Breis, Keith Bulluck, Jeff Callan, Michelle Daneshvar, Anne Glickman, Tom Lloyd, Sandy Rooney, Roberta G. Robinson, Dan Slavin.
