2014 Jazz Fest – Alysa Haas Jazz Cabaret


Cabaret artist Alysa Haas is a native New Yorker who has been performing in these NYC venues: Metropolitan Room, Don’t Tell Mama, Rose’s Turn, The Duplex, and Cleopatra’s Needle. She received her training in voice, musical theater and dance at Webster University and Fordham University, and earned a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology at NYU. Ms. Haas has studied voice and musical theater with Jan Callner, attended master classes with Lucie Arnaz and Betty Buckley, and studied comedy improvisation at The Groundlings in LA. Currently, she studies voice with Glenn Seven Allen (Light in the Piazza) and has just released her first CD.

Ms. Haas has appeared in community theater productions of Evita, On Your Toes, Oklahoma, Anything Goes, Working, Runaways, and the WestCo Production of Cinderella. Her film credits include: The Notebook, 100 Feet, Asylum, and The Split Cherry Tree.

Accompanying Ms. Haas will be Tedd Firth a New York City based accompanist, jazz pianist and arranger. Among the jazz musicians he has performed or recorded with are John Pizzarelli, Houston Person, Frank Wess, Mark Whitfield, Red Holloway, Benny Golson and Joe Morello. New York appearances include Carnegie Hall, the Blue Note, Birdland, the Iridium, the Algonquin, the Cafe Carlyle, Feinstein’s at the Regency, the Rainbow Room, Town Hall, the Russian Tea Room and Gracie Mansion. Numerous national appearances include a performance at the White House.

Also accompanying Alysa Hass will be Paul Beaudry (bass) and Tony Jefferson (drums).
