One Piano, Four-Hands Prize Winners of the New York International Piano Competition. Presented in partnership with the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation.

White Plains: Sunday, May 19 at 4:30 pm. Downtown Music at Grace proudly presents award-winning pianists Esther and Sun-A Park in a dynamic program of piano music for four hands.
Acclaimed pianists and sisters Esther and Sun-A Park dazzled the judges at the 2016 Chicago International Duo Piano Competition, winning this distinguished award sponsored by the Music Institute of Chicago. As Duo Amadeae, they have performed in numerous festivals, concerto performances and duo recitals, and have been heard on WQXR as part of the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation’s piano series.

Dr. Esther Park has performed as a soloist with orchestras and in recitals across the United States, in Asia, and in major European cities, appearing with orchestras such as the Houston Symphony, Yale Philharmonia, Filharmonia Pomorska, Poland, Orchestra Filarmonica, Romania, Shanghai Philharmonic, China, the Juilliard Symphony, and the New Jersey Symphony. Dr. Park is the winner of the 2013 Jose Roca International Piano Competition, the 2013 Russian International Music Competition, the 2009 “Prix Amadeo” and the 2009 Chopin Gesellschaft Klavierwettbewerb, among numerous distinctions.

Sun-A Park is quickly establishing herself as one of the exciting pianists of her generation. Hailed as “incredible” by the great pianist Martha Argerich, Ms. Park has received international recognition in several competitions including first prize at the 2018 Olga and Serge Koussevitzky Young Artists Awards (New York), and prizes at the 5th International Sendai Music Competition (Sendai, 2013), the 58th Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition (Bolzano, 2011), and the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition (Salt Lake City).


Downtown Music, voted Best Live Concert Venue by Westchester Magazine, has offered Westchester residents a rich array of concerts performed by professional musicians for 30 years. Downtown Music concerts take place at Grace Episcopal Church, located at the intersection of Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains. Parking is available at either the Church Street or City Center garage.

Downtown Music at Grace was founded in 1988 by Timothy Lewis, Director of Music and Organist of Grace Church in heart of White Plains. Downtown Music delights audiences with its beautiful setting and professional weekday and weekend performances consisting of a wide spectrum of musical genres from classical to ethnic music. The mission of Downtown Music is to provide an oasis of art and culture in the heart of White Plains. “Noonday Getaway Concerts” are weekly half hour lunch time programs at 12:10 pm from September to May.
