Join us for a special performance and Q&A session with the women Gloria Steinem called “the perfect protest group.”

BREAKING THE GLASS CEILING

Founded in 1985, the Guerrilla Girls are art world icons and iconoclasts, battling institutionalized discrimination against women and minorities with humor, guerrilla tactics, and gorilla masks. Their mission was to reveal the sexism of the 1980s art world, pointing to the underrepresentation of women in museum and commercial gallery shows. Their performance and talk will address continued inequities in the arts, in business, and across the pop culture machine (music videos, advertisements, etc), and provide “tips” on how to be an activist.

The Guerrilla Girls have made appearances at or completed projects for major art institutions all over the world, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Tate London, the Centre Pompidou, the Venice Bienniale, and more.
