Concert and Film Screening of the Mountain Project:  A Musical Odyssey from Appalachia to Himalaya

Enjoy a unique film (57 minutes) that follows the journey of two traditional musicians from their roots in hills of Virginia to the mountains of rural Nepal, where they explore the extraordinary coonections between Appalachian and Himalayan folk music and culture, particularly with thetraditional musicians of the Ganharba caste.

Film screen will be followed by a live, hour-long concert of fiddle based music of Nepal and Appalachia with:

Tara Lindhardt:  mandolin

Shyam Nepali:  saranghi

Raj Kappor:  percussion

Clarence Ferrari:  fiddle
