ART IN MOTION SUBMISSION FORM

This exhibition will feature artist’s interpretation of creative expression through movement and dance.  Dance has long fascinated artists interested in capturing the human body in motion and the spectacle of performance. The exhibit will present art that celebrates the world of dance, motion, interactions and abstract explorations of motion, rhythm, and atmosphere.

Robin Zane, Curator of the Lazarus Gallery, and Jodi Moise, Curator, Art Program and Collection at Montefiore Medical Center will jury this show.

CRITERIA
Artists may submit original 2-and 3-dimensional work in a variety of mediums. Entries can include paintings, drawings, animations, prints, photography (including nostalgia), posters, mixed media, fiber art (costumes and dance shoes), interactive displays, installations, ceramics and sculpture. The wall hung work should not exceed 48 x 66″, with a maximum hanging weight of 75 lbs. and 3D works or sculptures over 50 lbs must be set up by the artist and be safe for viewing.   Works can be representational or cutting edge. We look for work that is inspiring, engaging, humorous, provokes memories and triggers connection.   The audience primarily consists of senior residents, their families and staff.  Works should be visually pleasing and can encompass many genres, however no sexual, political or macabre images will be considered.

IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
Artists may submit up to 4 images. All work must be submitted via high-res in 300 dpi format and appear in the correct orientation. Send images to: artinmotionexhibit@gmail.com. All work must be ready for easy installation by the gallery with clear instructions for hanging.

SUBMISSION MATERIAL DEADLINE  September 26.
Artists must complete a submission form (attached), bio, and statement.   Each work must have a label attached on the back containing the following information: artist’s name, title, medium, dimensions, date, and sale price.  If submitting by US Postal Service, label your CD with your contact information including an email address and send to Linda Forman, United Hebrew, 391 Pelham Road, New Rochelle, NY 10805.

DELIVERY. INSURANCE. RETURN of ARTWORK
Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and all related costs including packing and insurance. All shipments must include a prepaid return-shipping label and be shipped in a container appropriate for re-use.

United Hebrew will use all due care in the handling of artwork while on the premises but artists are responsible to insure his/her own work for the duration of the exhibition.

PROMOTION AND SALES
-United Hebrew reserves the right to use images of the artworks for educational and promotional purposes.
-All work submitted must be available for the duration of the exhibit.
-United Hebrew will retain a 30% commission on all sales made as a result of the exhibition.
