Call for Artists for an Exhibit at the Rotunda Gallery
All artists in the Tri-State Area, at any stage in their artistic careers, are encouraged to email up to three (3) submissions of work completed from 2018 to 2020 calendar years to The Lincoln Park Conservancy, Inc. (TLPC) for an exhibit entitled “Struggle,” an event for Quest for Justice – A 60-Year Commemoration of the Lincoln School Decision, to be installed at the New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA) Rotunda Gallery at City Hall as well as virtually on-line. This exhibition is co-sponsored by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts and the Iona College Council on the Arts.
In these times of colliding turmoil, we each are faced with multiple “struggles”. In the age of Black Lives Matter, Covid-19 Pandemic, economic uncertainty, food insecurity and political upheaval we find ourselves reaching for an understanding, a resolution, or a recognition of our personal struggle. The artist’s voice is strong and brings an awareness of the reality of that struggle to the audience. Art offers a reflection of one’s experiences This exhibition is dedicated to those reflections.
The exhibit opens February 15, 2021 and closes April 16, 2021. All original two- and three-dimensional wall-hung work will be accepted for review as long as they meet all requirements (see specifications); a limited number of small free-standing works will be eligible for acceptance to be exhibited in glass cabinets. Sculpture will be accepted for the Virtual Exhibition. All work submitted must be available for exhibiting throughout the exhibition dates; substitutions will not be allowed. The final selection of work to be exhibited will be chosen by a committee representing The Lincoln Park Conservancy and the New Rochelle Council on the Arts Rotunda Gallery.

Exhibition Dates: February 15, 2021 through April 16, 2021 and the NRCA Rotunda Gallery

APPLICATION:
All entrants must complete the exhibit’s entry form. Completed entry form must be sent with your email submission that contains
- Up to 3 images (8 x 10 in.,200- 300 dpi jpegs only; no tiffs, pdfs, power point, etc.),
- Corresponding image list (all jpeg image names should correspond to entry form),
- A single-page resume,
- A separate statement relating to the “struggle” behind the work not exceeding 250 words.
