Axial presents Twisted Valentines for the 5th year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 2018

Axial Theatre’s Twisted Valentines Festival Offers Seven One-Acts
Celebrating the Shapes and Shades of Love

Westchester, N.Y. – Axial Theatre, entering its 20th anniversary year, has
announced the line-up of short plays for its annual Twisted Valentines
festival, a seasonal tribute to love and lovers that runs Feb. 8 – 17, 2019 in
Pleasantville. There are seven original one-acts that, through comedy,
drama, and a skillful blend of both, probe the depths of joy, despair, and
everything else that follows when Cupid’s arrows strike – or miss their mark.

The plays are…

Time The Revelator by John Patrick Bray – Two souls working a Christmas
tree lot discover the power of “thank you,” revealed on the night legends are
made.

Plattsburgh by Evelyn Mertens – When reality intrudes upon a marriage held
together by pretense, hope launches for one and a world of hurt ensues for
the other.

The Ninth Circus of Hell by C. J. Ehrlich – Andrew longs for Maya like Dante
for Beatrice, and oh! what horrors he’ll suffer for her. Hell is for wimps.
Today there will be clowns.

Dream Lover by Albi Gorn – A couple’s night of unprecedented emotional and
sexual bliss is disrupted by the question, “How could their dysfunctional
marriage produce such perfection?”

Sleeping Dogs by Pat Lennon – An idyllic 10th wedding anniversary takes an
unexpected turn when an incident from the distant past rears its head.

The Circus Acrobat Girl by Lisa Kimball – A woman teeters on the edge of a
bridge, capturing the attention of a man with a fear of heights and a need to
save.

Requiem for a Third Wheel by Virginia Reynolds – What’s the statute of
limitations on torch-carrying? Will Paulie be able to finally rest in peace?

Performances of Axial Theatre’s Twisted Valentines are Friday, Feb. 8 and 15
at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 9 and 16 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb.
10 and 17 at 4 p.m. on the campus of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 8
Sunnyside Ave., Pleasantville, New York 10570.
