Westchester’s 2015 Earth Day Event is coming to Croton Point Park on Saturday, May 16th, rain or shine. Admission is free for this annual spring-time celebration which promises a mix of live music and entertainment, environmental exhibits, a local farmers market, free raffles to win great prizes, and a compost bin and rain barrel sale. A highlight of the day’s festivities will be the presentation of the county’s Earth Day Awards for local environmental achievements and community waste reduction and recycling programs. A fun event for all ages!
This event is sponsored by County Executive Robert P. Astorino, the Department of Environmental Facilities, the Parks Department and the Friends of Westchester County Parks, as well as the Westchester Green Business Challenge and Operation Prom.
We are currently seeking artists for an “Earth-themed” art exhibition to take place at the event. Art pieces must be made out of recycled or reused materials, and/or contain an environmental theme. To secure your artist space, please contact Adam Kwan by phone at (914) 813-5964 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Artists will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. Proper insurance is required. The Department of Environmental Facilities has the right to deny any artists the ability to sell or display certain pieces if the department feels they are inappropriate for all ages to view.
Artists will be assigned a 10’ x 10’ space. Artists are responsible for providing their own tables, chairs, electric generator, easels, stands, and a tent if you wish to have them. Non-refundable registration fee: $25
