Out of Bounds; Freedom of expression

Blue Door Gallery will celebrate the spirit of African-American History and Women’s History Months with the interactive all media exhibition Out of Bounds: Freedom of Expression.

This exhibition will honor fearlessness, as artists share ways in which their art making sets them free. A corresponding online gallery and blog will also offer an intimate and expanded view of how artists access freedom of expression through their various materials, approaches and methods of application. Artists works will be featured on Blue Door Gallery website, Facebook, Tumblr and email blasts.

Digital storytellers and film makers are encouraged to submit video files. The “Freedom of Expression”digital stories will also be featured on the Out of Bounds: Freedom of Expression online gallery and blog.We are asking that video submissions be 3 minutes or less.

 Artists working in all media are encouraged to submit.

Out of Bounds: Freedom of Expression will be curated by artists, Shelita Birchett Benash and Luis Perlman.

 Exhibition Venue: Blue Door Gallery, 13 Riverdale Avenue (mail – 5 Hudson Street), Yonkers, NY 10701

 Exhibition Dates: February 15, 2015 to March 14, 2015

 Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 and over with original works from around the globe.

 Submissions: There is no size restriction.

 Entry Fees: THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE. Artists whose works are accepted will be asked to pay $25/per exhibited work.   

 Shipping: Artist are responsible for all shipping costs to/from the gallery. Blue Door Gallery insures all artworks during the exhibition dates.

 Deadline for Submissions: Mid-night December 31st, 2014.

 Notice of Acceptance: Selected artists will be notified via email on January 9th, 2015
