Join a vibrant community of art lovers as a Neuberger Museum of Art volunteer docent! Be immersed in art history and educational philosophy, learn from Purchase College faculty and NMA staff, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the museum and its collection of over 7,000 works of contemporary, modern, Latin American, and African art. As the public face of the museum, NMA docents welcome and engage visitors by delivering in-depth, inquiry-based tours to our diverse audiences year-round.
The program requires a two-year commitment which includes one year of training and one year of touring. Training workshops take place every other Monday, September – May, from 10am – 2pm, and include curator talks, exhibition walkthroughs, presentations on pedagogy, and other content related to our artists and exhibitions.
Learn more at our Docent Open House on Monday, May 23, 10:30am. For more information and RSVP, contact [email protected].
