Teatown is seeking entries for an upcoming gallery exhibit titled “Fragile Waterways–Protecting What We Love.” The artistic theme for the show is the watershed in which we live – its streams, ponds, lakes, and rivers.
All proceeds from the gallery show will benefit the Croton River Stewards Fund, an initiative to hire NY-NJ Trail Conference stewards who will engage with visitors on the Croton River and encourage appropriate ways to enjoy this beautiful but increasingly popular destination. With your support, the stewards can help this natural resource recover from the impacts of overuse while providing visitors with a cleaner, safer experience.
The top three submissions will be honored at the opening and the first-place winner will be invited to participate in a solo gallery show at Teatown at an agreed-upon future date. All works on display will be for sale; proceeds will support the first season’s initiative to protect the sensitive ecosystem along the riverbank through Stewards at the Croton River.
