The Sunflower Art Festival – a one-day art, music, and community festival. This year the festival is taking place on Saturday, August 13th in Gardiner, NY, located in a beautiful field by the Shawangunkill River and on the grounds of Tuthilltown Spirits Distillery.
The live art experience is open to all artists of any capability – creating a visual field of sunflowers through a variety of artistic expressions. Artists of all ages and talent levels will turn blank canvases into an explosion of color and creativity.
You can participate in a few different ways.
- You can be part of the Live Art Tent, where 50+ artists will gather together for a day of creativity. A 3’x3’ or 4’x4’ canvas will be provided, but artists will have to bring their own supplies. Pre-registering is required as space is limited. To reserve a canvas, go to http://www.sunflowerartfestival.com/artistssaf/. The entry fee is $10, which is a tax-deductible donation that goes to our organization to be further invested in the arts. All artists are welcomed. Sign up now at http://www.sunflowerartfestival.com/artistssaf
- Artists are also welcome to submit proposals for on-site art installations. Artists can apply in many different medias (see attached flyer for more details), but will have to stay within the inspiration of the festival theme. Due to space restrictions, a limited amount of art installations will be accepted to be on display. You can submit to be part of our large scale exhibit. For more information on this aspect, contact email@example.com.
The registered artist must be present for the day of the show. If the registered artist cannot make it, they are asked to let organizers know in advance so a replacement artist can be found. Only one artist or craft-person is allowed to lead art project at each canvas (assistants are allowed). The final art belongs to the artist after the close of the show. Artists have the right to sell their artwork or donate their final piece to the Sunflower Art Festival, which will be donated to a children’s hospitals (and medical centers) in the region.
