Instructional Support Staff Positions

The School of the Arts at Purchase College, SUNY seeks candidates for three new instructional support staff positions for the School of Art+Design. Working with an existing team of instructional staff supporting academic programs in the School of Art+Design, these individuals will help manage/support the facilities, processes and equipment overseen by each position as well as teach one course a semester within the School of Art+Design curriculum

Yonkers Pottery Studio: Internships / Work Exchange / Residencies – Ceramics, Sculpture and Clay Related

Running a successful ceramics studio is a team effort, so there are always opportunities to get involved at Yonkers Pottery. Participants contribute to the physical life cycle of the studio by dedicating time to clean and perform tasks critical to maintaining a safe and smooth-working environment for everyone’s enjoyment, as well as time to teach, monitor studio hours, help with sales, events, marketing and social media.

Internships – Experience first hand the nitty-gritty of a successful teaching community pottery studio while fulfilling your school’s internship requirements or your own personal goals.

Work Exchange – In exchange for working at the studio, you are compensated at an hourly rate to be used toward firing credits, classes or the use of our facilities, equipment and resources to further your skills and build your body of work and portfolio.

Executive Gallery Associate

The Mahlstedt Gallery is seeking an experienced Executive Gallery Associate for a full-time position. The candidate is responsible for handling the day-to-day operations of the physical gallery and online operations.

Responsibilities include: • Managing artist and artwork databases • Uploading and editing content on gallery websites • Composing artwork descriptions • Outreach and developing a client base • Selling art and controlling inventory • Coordinating shipping • Art handling and packaging • Planning exhibitions • Outreach to media, bloggers and press As the Executive Gallery Associate, you will be expected to have a strong presence and make a positive and significant contribution to the gallery environment as a knowledgeable liaison to the public. Candidate must be computer savvy and have experience working with Excel and Photoshop (MS Access and SQL are a plus). Applicants should possess excellent written skills. A Bachelor of Arts Degree is required. Must have at least 2 years’ experience working for a museum, gallery, or art advisory firm full time. Salary based on experience. Work days are Monday through Friday with flexibility for exhibitions and special occasions.
