Hudson Stage Company Goes to Off-Broadway
Hudson Stage Company (HSC) has been invited to bring its production of Switzerland, which it presented last spring, to Off-Broadway. The original set that was used at HSC’s Whippoorwill Theater in North Castle Public Library was salvaged and stored before being adapted for its new stage at 59E59 Theater in Manhattan. The production will run from February 7 through March 3 with the same two-person cast, Daniel Petzold and Peggy J. Scott, and director, Dan Foster. The play by Joanna Murray-Smith melds fact with fiction by placing Patricia Highsmith, author of the The Talented Mr. Ripley series in a fictional plot of the type of psychological thriller for which she was famous.
Two Westchester Arts Groups Showcased on Television
Two Westchester arts groups were recently recognized with notable television appearances. When “CBS Sunday Morning” discussed composer Aaron Copland’s legacy on a recent episode, it was musicians from Mount Kisco’s Copland House that ended the segment. They played Copland’s arrangement of the “Hoe Down” section of Rodeo live in the CBS studio. Hudson River Museum’s Maya Lin: A River is a Drawing exhibition, which closed in January, was highlighted with a full segment on PBS’ “NYC-Arts.” The clip featured an interview with acclaimed artist Maya Lin about her works in the exhibition. The solo show focused on the Hudson River, its natural terrain and environmental implications of its future.
