Contemporary Dance Workshops Scheduled in Yonkers

Sidra Bell Dance New York (SBDNY) is presenting a series of community outreach workshops in Yonkers this fall. Designed to appeal to a broad range of people of all skill levels, these contemporary dance workshops will encourage participants to access their imagination while they practice, and learn more about, movement and conditioning. A live DJ, Drew Lewis, will play a blend of jazz, house and electronica music to inspire participants, who will be encouraged to practice improvisation. In addition to the workshop, a company dancer will be on-site to perform a short excerpt of the company’s newest work, MÖNSTER OUTSIDE. Each workshop will end with a dialogue about the creative process. Sessions will take place on September 21 and October 20 at PC4 Purchase College Center for Community and Culture in Yonkers. Future dates will be announced. This series is supported by one of ArtsWestchester’s Arts Alive grants. For more info about these workshops and to register, visit: sidrabelldanceny.org/outreach.
