Gain experience at ArtsWestchester where we feature programs in specialized fields. The internships are unpaid learning opportunities that sometimes can be used for college credit. Interns gain valuable experience that can be used in future careers such as: project management, public relations, professional writing, team collaboration, leadership and responsibility. We also provide our interns with complimentary admission to arts/cultural events throughout Westchester, where they can help ArtsWestchester build awareness of the arts. ArtsWestchester offers you the chance to gain experience in fields where it is crucial.
We strive to give our interns projects that are meaningful and educational. In addition to contributing to important tasks in the departments to which interns are assigned, interns are invited to participate in professional activities and learn daily operational functions.

Arts in Education Intern

The Arts in Education intern provides administrative support for the school and community art residency program and works closely with the Arts in Education staff. The intern will assist in all aspects of the teaching artist program, outreach, marketing duties, residency planning, and professional development for artists.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to: conducting research; communicating with artists, arts organizations, and cultural sites in Westchester; filing; organizing mass mailings; data entry; and assisting with special projects, programs, and events.
The ideal candidate is expected to be dedicated and willing to offer clerical, creative and event management help. The Programs Department intern provides administrative support for the Grants and Cultural Programs department of ArtsWestchester. The intern will assist in a number of projects for our affiliate and associate members.

Development/ Events Intern

This internship offers the opportunity to work with development staff in all matters related to membership, special events, corporate sponsorships, foundation and government grant requests, and major gifts.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to: providing assistance to the Development Department; executing mail merges and preparing mass mailings; entering data into The Raiser’s Edge fundraising database; creating and modifying Excel spreadsheets; soliciting for membership drives; preparing membership, donation, and event attendance acknowledgement letters; maintaining office hard files; assisting with the planning and execution of major fundraising events, including the annual Gala and Silent Auction; and working on special projects as needed.
The ideal candidate should be candidate a currently enrolled college student or recent graduate with a demonstrated interest in the arts, detail-oriented, personable, self-reliant, a skilled communicator, and a fast learner. Moreover, the ideal candidate must be comfortable on the phone and have experience working in Microsoft Office. Gala/ Event Volunteers

The “best fundraising gala in Westchester” attracts over 500 guests each year at a unique site. With five-star cuisine, a “hot band,” and a silent auction of luxury items and exotic trips, there’s something for everyone. Furthermore, all of this raises much needed funds to ensure the availability and diversity of the arts in Westchester! This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with the development staff in all matters related to special events, fundraising, live auction, and major gifts.

- To attend a one-hour volunteer training session at The Ritz Carlton located in White Plains on a weeknight during the week prior to the gala.
- Be available Saturday, November 18 from 4:30 pm – midnight

ArtsWestchester is seeking responsible and motivated students or recent graduates in the visual arts, art history, or arts administration to assist with day-to-day operations of the Arts Exchange Gallery, a dynamic fine arts space in the heart of downtown White Plains.
Intern duties include, but are not limited to, front desk reception of gallery clients and visitors, fielding phone inquiries about gallery exhibitions and performances, exhibition support including basic registrar duties, database management, research, and special event staffing.
The ideal candidate has a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a background or interest in the visual arts and gallery administration. The internship is a minimum of 2 days per week, during Gallery hours. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 12-5PM.
