Teens and adults will express themselves with spoken work poet Toni Blackman in this afternoon of freestyle poetry writing and performance. All day voter registration with Rock the Vote!

World renowned hip-hop poet Toni Blackman leads a workshop in freestyle (improvised) rap. Participants will learn techniques for creating their own freestyle verse in a cypher, a group setting where everyone performs collectively in a circle. Blackman, the first hip-hop ambassador to the U.S. State Department, is an award-winning artist who has performed alongside Erykah Badu, the Wu-Tang Clan, Sheryl Crow, and many others.
